Palm Coast has a robust multimodal transportation infrastructure that provides efficient movement of goods and services for domestic and international markets. The city emphasizes sustainable transportation solutions for residents, promoting bike lanes, pedestrian-friendly pathways, and environmentally conscious initiatives.

HIGHWAYS

The city’s strategic location on Interstate 95 offers businesses access to major metropolitan areas within a two-hour drive. Interstate 95 connects to thoroughfares such as Interstate 10, Interstate 4, Interstate 295 and US 1. Additionally, Flagler County has quick access to state highways such as SR A1A, SR 100, SR 11 and SR 40.

RAIL AND INTERMODAL

Palm Coast offers direct access to railways within the county via the Florida East Coast (FEC). The freight rail system boasts 351 miles of track, including 19 miles within the city, and offers distribution, transloading and warehousing services along Florida’s east coast as well as connections to two Class 1 railroads and nearby international, deep-water ports, including Port of Jacksonville and Port Canaveral.

AIR TRANSPORTATION

There are 24 public and private airports located less than 60 miles from Palm Coast. International airports near Palm Coast include Jacksonville International Airport (77 miles away), Orlando International Airport (99 miles), Sanford International Airport (71 miles), and Daytona Beach International Airport (34 miles). Flagler County Executive Airport is the state’s third busiest general aviation airport and the air traffic control tower is one of the busiest Federal Contract Towers in the nation. The airport has a FAA manned tower and a Foreign Trade Zone #64 designation. A new terminal facility and 42 T-hangers, three buildings of 14 units, were completed in 2023.

SEAPORTS

Two international trade seaports are located near Palm Coast. The Port of Jacksonville (JAXPORT) is Florida’s largest container port and the 13th largest in the United States. The port averages 18 million short tons of cargo each year and is the country’s fourth largest vehicle handling port. Port Canaveral, located on Florida's Space Coast, is a unique quadri-modal transportation hub, connecting sea, land, air and space transportation and commerce.

SPACEPORTS

Six spaceports are located within 100 miles of Palm Coast, clustered around the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station are both federally licensed and Space Florida Launch Complex 46, Space Florida Launch and Landing Facility, Cecil Air and Space Port, and Space Coast Regional Airport are all FAA-licensed spaceports.
